"Planters of Pulaski County Garden Club Welcomes New Members"
As the Planters of Pulaski County Garden Club closes out another year of gardening projects in the community, we would like to thank Café Italia for their donation to help purchase plants for the Waynesville, Mo. pots.
The 2008 year was productive with the planting of twenty five pots and two planters in downtown Waynesville, Mo. this spring. Autumn decoration were done in September. We hope visitors and the community enjoyed the displays. Our other project is the Devil's Elbow overlook. A thousand daffodil bulbs, day lily, black eyed susan, cone flower and iris were planted over the past year. The overlook is a tourist destination, with thousands of visitors coming to Pulaski county to view the beautiful and historic Route 66. We are a small group but feel we make a big difference in the quality of life in our county. We are members of the Federated Garden Club of Missouri, Inc. We are the modern version; some of us do wear hats and gloves, but the gloves we wear are work gloves. We dig, move rocks and boulders, spread mulch, landscape, plant flowers, shrubs and trees, buy benches, exchange ideas and raise money to fund these projects. We welcome new members, hope for your support and will continue our efforts to make Pulaski County a more beautiful place to live.
